Eran Shir is an Internet entrepreneur, executive, and angel investor. Currently, Eran is running the Creative Innovation Center at Yahoo!, where he is responsible for Yahoo!'s ad creative technologies strategy and portfolio, as well as the development of its next generation ad creative platforms. Eran joined Yahoo! in Oct. 2010 when Yahoo! acquired Dapper, a dynamic ads and semantic web startup he co-founded in 2007. Earlier in his career, Eran was an academic researcher in fields spanning complex systems, networks, the Internet and black holes, and founded DIMES, an open-source, global networking research project, as well as Cogniview - an enterprise facing startup.
Eran holds a BA and MA in theoretical physics from the Technion, and does not hold a PhD from Tel-Aviv university, which he bailed on to found Dapper.
